Overall VG. This was the second novel by the March King, John Philip Sousa. It is set in a section of Sousa's hometown of Washington DC called Pipetown, and is at least in part a picture of his youth. There is some emphasis on music in the book. Today, Sousa's importance, particularly on the development of jazz and swing music, is often overlooked. ; B&W Illustrations, Cover Design; Small 8vo 7½" - 8" tall; 383 pages
