This is an oblong (10 1/2 X 9 1/4) slick, cardboard folder that advertised the Club Baby Grand in Harlem and was designed to hold a photograph of someone visiting the nightspot. If this one ever held a photo, that photo is long gone. The folder is in about VG condition with an old, flat crease on the front bottom corner and three scuffs on the back. The front shows a photo of the front entrance to the club along with a smaller photo of "M.C." Nipsey Russell, popular comedian on TV in the 60's and 70's and also remembered for playing the Tin Man in "The Wiz." On the back is a photo of "Dis Jockey" Willie Bryant, who did a nightly radio broadcast from the Club on Station W.H.O.M. This is a nice bit of African-American ephemera from the 1950's from a club in Harlem that was trying to rekindle the excitement of an earlier time when the Cotton Club and the Apollo were in their prime. ; Tinted B&W Photographs; Oblong Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 4 pages
