This autograph of Ozzie Nelson and Harriet Hilliard (Ozzie and Harriet) is on the blank interior of a single-fold card advertising the Terrace Restaurant in New York City on one side and the Manhattan Room of the Hotel New Yorker on the other. Please see scans. The card has very minor wear but is somewhat aged with some staining or toning on all four pages. The stains should be visible in my scans. I think this card was on tables in the Terrace Restaurants, since that is the front of the card and because Ozzie Nelson and his Orchestra is the featured act. On the back panel of the card, the Hotel New Yorker advertises The Manhattan Minstrels with a somewhat racist cartoon/silhouette of five African-American singers. (I have not been able to determine whether the Manhattan Minstrels were African-American or white. I do not know if copies of this card were used for autographs, but the blank interior is certainly convenient for that purpose. I have dated the card to around 1935 because Harriet has signed with her maiden name, Harriet Hilliard. Ozzie and Harriet were married in 1935. Before the marriage she was billed as Harriet Hilliard. This is a nice collectible autograph of Ozzie and harriet and of New York night life in the 1930's. ; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 4 pages
