This copy has some light edge, corner and surface wear along with general, light aging. Still square and securely bound. A solid copy. Of special interest, featured on the cover, is an article on the minstrel tradition in American music. This tradition dates back to the Civil War and before and extended into the 1960's at least. Minstrelsy featured racist sterreotyping and cast African-Americanss into roles that persist even today. At the same time the music of minstrelsy underlies much modern black and white music though it is often overlooked or ignored. This article is a good overview with many illustrations. There are also articles on blue jeans, Columbus, Republicans and many more. ; Color and B&W Illustrations; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 112 pages
