Moore and his wife. On Christmas Day 1951, members of the Florida KKK bombed the Moore house killing both Harry Moore and his wife. Moore was the founder of the Brevard Co. NAACP and he and his wife were the first NAACP members killed during the civil rights movement. Moore is considered the first martyr in the Civil Rights Movement.
