This is a 3 1/2 X 5 1/2 handwritten card printed "Richard Barksdale Harwell at the top. Harwell was a Georgia librarian and bibliographer, most known for Georgiana: A Selection of a Dozen Dozen Collectible Georgia Books, an annotated work on important Georgia books that he co-authored with Robert Marion Willingham, Jr. and which has become a standard reference work for many Georgia book collectors. This card is written on both sides in Harwell's small but easily readable script. The card, which is in near perfect condition, is to Van Allen Bradley who was, at the time, Literary Editor of the Chicago Daily News. The note concerns two topics: Side one deals mainly with the publication of Georgiana and Harwell's concerns about it. He did not get to oversee the final publication. Side two more importantly takes up some bibliographic issues concerning early printings of Gone with the Wind. Harwell lists specific points and publication issues for both the books and the dustjackets. Harwell was noted for his scholarship and this is an important letter for those researching the publishing history of GWTW. The mailing envelope to Bradley is laid in. ; Oblong 48mo 3½" - 4" tall; 1 pages; Signed by Author
