G+ to VG-. This book, bya a local Mississippi historian, is an account of what is known as The Free State of Jones. A Civil War soldeier from Jones County, MIississippi left the Confederacy and established a "free state" in Jones County which attracted other Mississippians both black and white. This event was the basis for the movie The Free State of Jones starring Mathew McConaughey. The story in this book came from Knight's grandson, who seems to have been critical of his grandfather. This copy is a stated second printing, though, since the first edition was published in 1951 and there seems to have been more than one printing, this may technically be a second edition.
