Deep red cloth with silver titles and illustration. Titles on spine are not in silver but are blindstamped in black and I assume they did not have the silver on them. The book has light edge wear with slightly rubbed corners. Light interior toning with all platesand illustrations present. Whymper was from England as was the first person to climb the Matterhorn. Lady Blanche Murphy's travelogue, Down the Rhine, is also included. This copy is not dated but is by Burrows and probably dates from the late 1890's to the early 1900's. Very attractive copy. ; B&W Illustrations; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 164, 75 pages
