This is the 1893 edition of what is an embellished biography of 19th century Church of Christ minister, T. W. Caskey. The author adds stories, that he says are true, to give a more full picture of the South. Caskey preached in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky and Texas where he finally settled. He fought in the Civil War and was known as the "Fighting Parson of the Confederacy." He was involved with what is called the Restoration Movement. Interesting book on Caskey with much local color. ; B&W Drawings; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 400 pages
