By: Burroughs, John

Price: $200.00

Quantity: 1 available

Book Condition: Very Good

This is a post card of Yosemite Valley from Artist's Point. As a PC it is in VG condition. The back which was written by Burroughs is VG+ with the cancellation touching part of the address and a small crease touching part of the message. Two small notes in pencil -- one identifies the writer as Burroughs; the other is not readable. See scan. The card is addressed to a young woman, possibly a student, at Wellsley College. ; Color Post Card of Yosemite; 1 pages; The note, in Burroughs hand reads, "All goes well. 3 days here with Muir. We sail for Honolulu May 5th. JB." The card is also addressed in Burroughs' hand. Burroughs and Muir were together at Yosemite in 1909. A brief account of their time there was written by Clara Barrus in her book, Our Friend John Burroughs, published in 1914. This card is guaranteed to be authentic. I also have a nice copy of Burroughs' first book on nature, Wake Robin. Our # 13469.
