Spine is sunned, frayed at foot and head and along edges, 2" slit in spine fabric at lower rear edge. Corners are bumped, back pastedown partially tornoff. A few brown spots on interior pages, otherwise interior is VG. A notation on the ffep states "Name That Tune, PO Box 199, New York 11, New York". This 1928 book must have still been in use in the late 1950's. ; B & W Drawings; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 181 pages; This guide to dressmaking using McCall's patterns was written by an associate professor of household arts at Columbia University Teachers' College. It is a thorough guide, with lists of equipment, suggestions for choosing fabrics and pattern (McCall's of course) , sewing techniques and care of clothing. Ms. BAldt encourages her readers to "break away from some of the old traditions and limitations," whatever that meant in 1928. This still has some good material in it and is a fun read for home dressmakeers.
