Clifford Lanier was the brother of Georgia poet, Sidney Lanier. Clifford was also a poet and novelist. His Civil War novel, Thorn-fruit is listed in Georgiana and was more successful, and probably better, than Sidney's Tiger-Lilies. Clifford Lanier's novel is a true rarity and his signature is not common.
