Some minor staining on page edges here and there. ; Steel engravings; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 568 pages; This is volume 4 of 8 volumes. The main part of each volume was Ellis's seriealized novel, Self-Deception; or, The History of a Human Heart. Interspersed with the novel were poems, essays, and random thoughts from Mrs. Ellis along with very nice engravings. The Brontes were known to have read Ellis's work.
