Fred Wilson's Clog Dances

Book Condition: Good

This sheet music has much wear. It has been professionally reattached and stabilized with archival tape but still shows use. There is edge corner and surface wear and aging . The wear on the spine suggests that this came from a bound album. Overall, in G condition. The cover image is still strong and shows Fred Wilson, a well-known minstrel performer in the mid-19th century, in costume. Wilson was the first to perform clog dances in minstrel shows. Clog dancing seems to have been an American amalgamation of British, African, and pre-Columbian American dance styles. Both blacks and whites performed clog dances.
