Reddish cloth with gilt titling on spine and front. Some edge, corner and surface wear with boards showing at some corners. There is some tearing along the hinges but the binding is still secure and the book square. One interior page seems to have a child's blue crayon markings on it. Overall this copy has its problems but is still in the G+ range. This is an interesting biography of Garrison by an African-American author who was a nephew of the well-known South Carolina Grimke Sisters. Grimke was a lawyer, journalist and diplomat who served as Vice-President of the NAACP around 1914. ; American Reformers; B&W Frontispiece of Garrison; 8vo 8" - 9" tall
