Deep green paper over boards with faded gilt titles on spine. Some edge and corner wear along with areas of paper chipping at spine ends and edges. Some lightening on front and back covers along with an old call number sticker at base of spine. I find no other evidence of this being a library book. Expected aging. Book is still square and securely bound. This collection of biographical essays of famous African-Americans is quite well-done and features an Introduction by Alain Locke. This is a stated First Edition. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 294 pages
