Constitution and Laws of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan (Incorporated)

Book Condition: Very Good

This small (4X4 approx.) booklet contains the Constitution and Laws of the Ku Klux Klan in 1921. The booklet has no author, but I would guess that this was written by William Joseph Simmons, who had revived the Klan in 1914 but had been forced out by 1921. These rules and regulations have the tone and imagination of Simmons who was truly into the claptrappings of fraternal organizations -- secret handshakes, odd attire, and strange hierarchical positions -- think Imperial Wizard, Kligrapp, Klaliff, Klokard, Kludd and Klabee. H. W. Evans, Imperial Wizard has signed in print at the end of the booklet. He had forced Simmons out and took the Klan to a broader and more violent basis. This booklet has been professionally repaired (covers reattached) and stabilized. It still has some wear, small tears and creases along with expected aging, but is overall a solid copy of a hard to find bit of Klan ephemera. ; Square 32mo 4" - 5" tall; 96 pages
