Mrs. Dull was the food editor for the Atlanta Journal Magazine and a cooking instructor. Her Southern Cooking has been a standard volume for Georgia and Southern cooks since its publication in 1928, eight years after she began as the the cooking editor for the Atlanta Journal Newspaper's weekly magazine. The book has been reprinted many time but this is an unusually nice first edition copy of a very scarce book. It's condition is very close to near fine. The book is square and securly .A former owner's name is on the ffep. There are no notes, no gravy stains, no greasy fingerprints - in fact the book looks unused. In a way that's a shame for it is a wonderful compilation of recipes, both traditional everyday Southern dishes and fancy ones for entertaining. In addition there are chapters on setting up a kitchen, menus for various occasions, table settings, dishes for invalids, and household hints. A primer on gracious living in the early 20th century! ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 350 pages
