It's Nobodys Business But My Own

This sheet music, which I think is a first printing, features a famous photo of the African-American singer and actor, Bert Williams in blackface with a row of stereotypical images of African-American faces below him. Williams sang this song in Ziegfild's Follies to great success. W. C. Fields said that Williams was the funniest man he he ever heard and the saddest man he ever knew. The sheet music has some edge and corner wear with a small bit of the bottom right hand corner torn away. It has expected aging. The back is of some interest because it advertises blues sheet music by Lukie Johnson (Has Anybody Seen My Corinne?), Maceo Pinkard (Those Draftin' Blues) and Spencer Williams (Tishomingo Blues). ; B&W Photograph of Bert Williams and Cartoons; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 4 pages
