Folk, Review of People's Music, Part One

By: Jones, Max (ed.)

Price: $50.00

Quantity: 1 available

Stapled, gray wraps with black titles and silhouette image. This copy has an old, mostly flattened, horizontal crease through the middle along with toning along edges and light gebneral wear. Square and securely bound. Still an attractive solid copy, even with the old crease. This copy is labelled Part One but I cannot find a Part Two. This looks like a magazine, but I think it was published as a book since there is no volume number and no other issues listed. Essays include: The English Hymn, English Songs of Revolt, The Revolutionary Origins of English Folk Song, The Calypso Singers, Negro Music in Puerto Rico, Poetry of Afro-American Folk Song and Balladeer for America [Josh White]. This seems to have been a socialist/communist publication. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 32 pages
