This sheet music features a photograph of Johnny Mercer. It has very light general wear and aging especially along the edges. A number is written in pencil just below and to the right of the word "Doll." This song was originally copyrighted in 1917 by Clarence Williams and Armand Piron, who had started a music publishing house in New Orleans in 1915. Williams was a major African-American composer, publisher and performer. His most famous song was "Shimmy Like My Sister Kate."
