This pen and ink drawing of Civil War and Indian wars Major Marcus Reno by Lisle Reedstrom is in finr condition with almost no wear or aging. The drawing is signed Reedstrom and is nicely matted in a maroon mat. The paper of the drawing is about the size of the mat although size of the imag is about 7 1/2 X 9 1/2. Reno was a Brevet Brigadies General during the Civil War but achieved his fame, or infamy, as a Major, second in command in the 7th Cavalry to George Armstrong Custer. Reno survived the Little Big Horn and became a center of controversy for the rest of his life. Lisle Reedstrom is a well-known illuutrator who has done much work on books about the West. I do not know if this image has been published, but Reedstrom did much work on the Battle of the Little Big Horn around 1970.
