This copy of one of the earliest and most important books on jazz, has had some professional repair. The spine has been rebacked and the original spine laid down on the backing. The front wraps has been reinforced and tipped to the new spine backing. Please examine scans. Overall the repairs have made this a solid, square and secure copy of a difficult tot find volume by the great French jazz critic. There is some wear and age-toning but the book is VG- to VG. A picture of Louis Armstrong has been affixed to the ffep. All plates are present. This is the first trade edition. A Limited Edition of 60 specially bound copies was also issued. There is a special introduction by Louis Armstrong in French and English.
