This is a former library book, with expected library stamps and paraphernalia. There is edge, corner and surface wear with some loss at spine ends and rubbing along spine edges. The binding is still sedure with no tears or parting and the book is square. Taylor was a noted African-American historian who taught at Tuskegee, West Virginia Collegiate Institute and Fisk. He did notable work on the role of African-Americans in the South during Reconstruction, this book being one of several on the subject.
