Maroon boards with a kind of Art Nouveau decoration and gilt titles. Some edge and corner wear but square and securely bound with all of Walker's color plpates present and still protected by tissue guards. Old Atlanta bookstore sticker on front pastedown -- Lester Book and Stationery Company; Color Plates; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 363 pages; A collection of essays about English poets and the places they lived. This volume comes from my family and has a gift inscription to my mother, Miss Mable Chastain from her sister-in-law, Mrs. Bob Chastain. My mother always told me that her brother had married a woman who worked at the Atlanta Pencil Factory and had testified in the Leo Frank Trial. My Uncle Bob's wife's first name was Helen and there were three or four Helen's who testified at the famous trial. A divorce and my Uncle's death over a decade before I was born mean that Helen Chastain's maiden name is now lost to the family. However, I do not think my mother made the story up; she told it too many times. I think that this volume then contains the signature of one of the women who testified in Leo Fanks' trial. This book was given as a gift in the 1920's.
