The leather has peeled back from the boards on the edges, but the binding is holding together. There is damage (insect? ) and staining to the endpapers and top corner of most of the book, but it lessens as you go through the book. Pages 195-198 are loose. The paper itself is in good condition with expected toning and some foxing. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 564, index pages; In spite of the rough condition of the book, it is an interesting look at the legal system in England in the 17th century. In the back of the book, labeled "Table," is an index to a wide variety of legal issues covered by the book. The book was originally published in 1623, and this is the fourth edition, which has been corrected and updated.
