North Hollywood Brandon House 1968 First Edition Hardcover
This copy has some creasing along the spine and next to it, but is not cracked. Otherwise it has only minor aging. It is square and securely bound. VG to VG+. ; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 208 pages; This is a copy of To Pay the Piper by Anonymous published in 1968 by Brandon House. Brandon House was one of the three largest adult publishers in the late 1960's and used photographic offset reprint to print classic European works and some more modern books, often from the famed Olympia Press in Paris. To Pay the Piper seems to be a story of sexual blackmail. As with many of these 1960's novels there is an Introduction by a PH. All the Loving Couples, Gordon, Leo V.
10 Gordon, Leo V. All the Loving Couples
Los Angeles Holloway House 1969 First Edition; First Printing Softcover
Pictorial wraps (color scene from movie) with light edge and corner wear. Book is basically as new with shelf wear on the edges. Spine is straight and neither cracked nor creased. Book is unread. Paper is higher quality than the usual Holloway House book and is not toned. VG+ to NF. ; B&W Stills from Movie; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 253 pages; This is a novel, based on a sexploitation movie from 1969. It has many stills from the movies with some nudity. Leo V. Gordon was an actor and scriptwriter who did both this book and the script. Roger Ebert actually reviewed this movie and exhibited some ambivalence about it, indicating that It was a cut above the normal films of the type. Holloway House was selling sex and seems to have planned a series of movie tie-ins. This is not a stated First Edition, but it is the correct number HH-175, the correct year, and has an SBN number rather than and ISBN number -- SBN was used in the US prior to 1970.

The Time of Your Life, Markham, Bob
14 Markham, Bob The Time of Your Life
Cleveland Corsair Books 1967 First Edition Thus; First Printing Softcover Near Fine Illustrated by Gene Bilbrew
Light, general wear. Book is square and binding secure. Spine is neither creaded nor cracked. Book feels unread. Light, interior toning. This may be a first edition, but I am unfamiliar with Corsair Books, and Gene Bilbrew most often worked for AfterHours and Satan Presses. This is a 1960's sleaze novel that is especially interesting because the cover art is by Gene Bilbrew, also known as ENEG. Bilbrew was a pioneering African-American illustrator who created the first black superhero, The Bronze Bomber. Bilbrew also worked for Will Eisner (Mad Magazine) and replaced Jules Feiffer as artist for the comic strip, Clifford. Bilbrew became addicted to heroin, lost his jobs with major publishers and began doing highly risque work for fetish magazines and sleaze book covers. The cover for this book epitomizes the sleaze genre. Bilbrew covers are sought after. ; Cover Art; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 158 pages; 1960's sleaze novel that is especially interesting because the cover art is by Gene Bilbrew, also known as ENEG.
