Chicago Hamburg A. A. 1912 First Edition; First Printing Softcover Very Good-
Pale blue wraps with black titles bound by cord tie. Tie may have been replaced at some point. The booklet has light corner and edge wear but does have some aging, toning and soiling. Also, there is an old, mostly flattened, vertical crease wher this program was folded, probably to put in a coat pocket. This is a Program for the Masque Carnival and Fancy Dress Ball given by the Hamburg A. A, at the Regiment Armory on Saturday, January 20, 1912. The Amburg A. A. was, and still may be, located in Chicago. This program features photographs of various Hamburg athletic teams along with many ads for Chicago businesses and for local ads for political candidates, Many of these political ads have photographs of the candidates. The program lists the officers and committee members of the Hamburg A. A. but not much about the club. Great bit of Chicago ephemera with political content. ; B&W Photographs; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; Unpaginated pages

How to Fight Tough, Dempsey, Jack
11 Dempsey, Jack How to Fight Tough
Unstated Hillman Periodicals, Inc. 1942 First Edition; First Printing Softcover Very Good-
Red wraps with black, yellow and white titles along with B&W photograph of Jack Dempsey and another soldier. Some edge, corner and surface wear with small pencil marking at top of Dempsey's head in photo. Interior pages are toned and there is some flaking along some edges because of paper quality. Book is square with a secure binding. Spine is not creased. This is a wonderful book from WWII. It features many photographs of Jack Dempsey demonstrating commando fighting techniques. For most of the photographs Dempsey is fully clothed but the "enemy" is nearly nude, in a pair of briefs and combat boots. (Maybe there was something about ememy commandos that we were never told.) Anyway, the former champ explains all about touch guy fighting, using as the idea that the best way to handle a man who raises his arm against you is to break it off and beat him with it. Great stuff from the middle of WWII. ; B&W Photographs; 12mo 7" - 7˝" tall; 127 pages
