Minor wear to corners and spine, a small scrape in center of front, light soil. ; B & W ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 53 pages; This is the first separate publication of Marse Chan, have been published in 1887 as part of In Ole Virginia. It is writen in African-American dialect. The black and gold decorations on the cream cloth may be by Margaret Armstrong , see http: //www.rarebook.com/margaret. HTm. This copy has a gift inscription by Lilian Bell, dated 1893. This may be the novelist.
