Brick red cloth with flower decoration on front and black lettering on spine. Some light wear on covers, edges and corners. Book is square and binding is secure. Jacket has edge and corner wear with small tears and chips some scuffing and toning. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 176 pages; Signed and inscribed by Wister on the ffep. Gertrude Wister was the wife of famed horticulturalist John Wister. In her own right she two was a major figure in American gardening. Her dedication is to Steven Wheaton who served as Director of the Scott Arboretum in Swarthmore PA and then was in charge of the restoration work on the antebellum plantings at Barnsley Gardens in Northwest Georgia.
