Corners slightly bumped, ffep has 1 x 5" darkened area due to offsetting, perhaps by a bookmark. There is a former owner's name and a what seems to be a grocery list on the ffep, otherwise the book is VG+. The dust jacket is sunned on the spine and folds with some wear to the folds, small chips at the head and foot of spine, and a small tear at the top back edge. ; B & W Drawings; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 157 pages; This is the first American edition of Gallico's charming tale of the London charwoman who scrimps and saves to buy herself a Dior gown in Paris, only to find that the real worth of the dress is the friends she made. The book matches the first American edition of Mrs. 'Arris Goes to Parliament, also listed.
