Nashville Parthenon Press 1940 Centennial Edition; 1st Printing (1996) Hardcover Very Good with no dust jacket 
Very light edgewear and corner bumps. One tiny bump or ding on front edge. Otherwise the book is square and securely bound with only occassional light interior toning or aging. ; B & W Photographs; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 720 pages; While this book is listed as the Centennial Edition, I can find no earlier editions listed, so it, in fact, may be the first. Haygood (1839-1896) was a prominent Georgia Methodist who eventually became Bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church South. After the Civil War, he worked for the rights of freed Negroes in the South. He was also a writer (Our Brother in Black, Jack Knife and Brambles) and was associated with Emory University.
