This copy has edge and corner wear. There is also wear and some scu ffing along the spine. The book is square and securely bound. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 242, 26 plates pages; This is a 1942 American Philosophical Society edition of tow works: one by father, John Bartram, and the other, by son, William Bartram. The report by William Bartram is the forerunner, to his longer Travels. This very attractive volume contains both John and William Bartram's accounts of their travels in the South. It was published for the December 1942 meeting of the American Philosphical Society in Phildelphia. The book is annotated by Francis Harper, Research Associate of the John Bartram Association, Philadelphia. Included in the back are maps, plates of plants and animals, and several facsimile pages from the diaries.
