1 Clark, Al C. (Donald Goines) Crime Partners
Los Angeles Holloway House 1974 0870674455 / 9780870674457 1st Edition, Stated; First Printing Softcover Near Fine
Very attractive copy with only very light wear and usual toning of pages. Spine is neither cracked nor creased. This is probably as an attractive a copy as one may find; these books were frequently read and re-read. NF. Crime Partners was one of three novels Donald Goines wrote under the pseudonym Al C. Clark featuring the recurring character, Kenyatta. It is one of seventeen Goines would write in a five-year period before his murder in 1975. Holloway House first editions are notoriously tricky to identify. Most titles were republished many times. In titles from the 60's and 70's, the statement "First Printing" occurs in later printings as well as the first. True first printings are rather scarce and condition is often an issue. Holloway House began in the 1960's. It was the first publisher to capitalize on the urban black market. Besides Donald Goines, Holloway House published Iceberg Slim, Joseph Nazel, Robert DeCoy and many other African-American writers. Wanda Coleman, now called the "Poet Laureate of Los Angeles," was an early editor. The company is still in operation.; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 190 +ads pages

2 Goines, Donald (as Al C. Clark) Cry Revenge
Los Angeles Holloway House 1974 0870674560 / 9780870674563 1st Edition, Stated; First Printing Softcover Very Good
Pictorial wraps show very light corner and edge wear. Spine is not cracked and book appears unread. Book is square and binding is secure. However, there is an old dampstain on top edge, front and back with very minimal effects to the interior. Without this staining book would be NF. Still an attractive copy of this Goines title. This is the true first edition of this title with no mention of Donald Goines as the author on the front and no mention at all of Goines death. Holloway House reissued all of his books with new covers that mentioned his death. They also put Goines name as the author on the cover, though Al C. Clark is still on the title page. Holloway House # BH456.; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 214 pages

3 Goines, Donald (as Al C. Clark) Cry Revenge
Los Angeles Holloway House 1974 0870674560 / 9780870674563 Later Edition Softcover Very Good+
Pictorial wraps show light corner and edge wear. Spine is not cracked and book appears unread. Book is square and binding is secure. Unusually attractive condition for a Goines title. This book was originally published under Goines pseudonym, Al C. Clark, but when Goines was murdered, Holloway House reissued all of his books with new covers that mentioned his death. They also put Goines name as the author on the cover, though Al C. Clark is still on the title page -- indicating this is the original book with a new cover. Anyway, early printings of Goines' work in this condition are hard to find. They were read to death. ; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 214 pages
