1 Whiteman, Paul (David A. Stein, Ed. ) Records for the Millions A Guide to Record Collecting
New York City Hermitage House 1948 First Edition; First Printing Hardcover Very Good+ in Very Good- dust jacket
Book has only very light wear and aging. Jacket has clear tape reinforcement at top and bottom of spine. At the top, the tape was used to close a short tear where the jacket had been damaged. The tape at the bottom appears to be a preventative. (See scan. ) ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 331 pages; At the time this book was published, Paul Whiteman was called the "King of Jazz." Today, that would be like calling Simon Cowell the "King of Rock." Whiteman was a musician (unlike Cowell) and a promoter who, in this discography, rates records for "the millions." Lots of good information on recordings here, but Whiteman long ago moved to a somewhat lower position in the sovereign hierarchy of music.
