2 Weller, Jack E.  Yesterday's People Life in Contemporary Appalachia
Lexington KY  University Of Kentucky Press  1965  First Paperback Edition; First Printing  Softcover  Very Good- with no dust jacket; This copy has wear on the corners and edges, along with a few minor creases and scuffs. There is a bit of browning on the cover edges and a few pencil underlings and notations inside.
Several autographs; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 163 pages; This is a first softcover edition of one of the most respected books on Appalachian mountain culture. What sets this particular copy apart is a group of autographs in it. It is signed on the title page by the author Jack Weller. There is an Introductory Note by University of North Carolina sociologist Rupert P. Vance, who has signed at the end of this section and added "Chapel Hill N. C. " Next there is a Foreword by Harry Caudill, author of "Night Comes to the Cumberlands. " At the end of this Foreword Caudill has signed and written a four line inscription to the person who owned the book. At the bottom of the Acknowledgements page, Tom Parrish of the Council of the Southern Mountains (he helped Weller edit this book) has signed and written the date and Berea KY. Also, the book is signed on the ffep by the previous owner, Jan Moister, who seems to have been a student or assciate of Caudill. I suspect that another copy with all these signatures does not exist. ; Signed by Author & Illustrator
